Lake Nottely Improvement Association, Inc. is a non-profit corporation under the Georgia statutes. The board and officers are all volunteers and receive no compensation from the LNIA.

Our Mission is to maintain, protect and enhance the quality of Lake Nottely and its surroundings for the benefit of all lake users. We work closely with the TVA, GA DNR, USFS, Union County, and the Hiwassee River Watershed Coalition in the pursuit of these goals. Click here to visit the website

Vogel State Park

One of Georgia’s oldest and most popular state parks, Vogel is located at the base of Blood Mountain in the Chattahoochee National Forest. Driving from the south, visitors pass through Neel Gap, a beautiful mountain pass near Brasstown Bald, the highest point in Georgia. Vogel is particularly popular during the fall when the Blue Ridge Mountains transform into a rolling blanket of red, yellow and gold leaves. Hikers can choose from a variety of trails, including the popular four-mile Bear Hair Gap loop, an easy one-mile lake loop, and the challenging 13-mile Coosa Backcountry Trail. Cottages, campsites and primitive backpacking sites provide a range of overnight accommodations. The park’s 22-acre lake is open to non-motorized boats. Butternut Creek Festival

The Butternut Creek Festival is one of the finest juried arts and crafts shows in the Southeast. The two day festival showcases the work of 65 artists and craftsmen in categories from basketry, fine art, fabric art, and decorative painting, to glass, jewelry, metal working, photography, pottery, scrimshaw, and woodturning. Held annually at Meeks Park in Blairsville, Georgia, you don’t want to miss it!

Blairsville’s Butternut Creek Festival has recently been designated for the 2nd year in a row as a Top 20 Event by the Southeast Tourism Society.
